DIY our big kitchen reveal..

Hello everyone

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and Monday..? Today I wanted to share this post with you. Right before we left to Holland for four weeks me and my boyfriend decided to paint our kitchen white, I was a little bit nervous about it because, at the moment we are living in a rented house that’s from a Landlord so we asked a couple months ago if it was okay for us to paint our kitchen and surprisingly he said Yes!! But I was really worrying hoping that he will love it.. Because for some reason in the UK people like their kitchens brown and dark and when we moved into our house the kitchen was brown with burgundy red and creme tiles. And for some reason our kitchen always looked very messy because of the dark colors. So it took me three years. But I finally decided to do it anyways. Because this house is not ours we decided to do it ourselves because other wise it got to expensive. So we went to B&Q and bought our paint from there. I also bought some paint specially for tiles, to paint our tiles white which was my biggest concern before I started painting them. But I have to say the paint is perfect and it’s so easy to clean and even the colors were very dark I was able to paint the tiles in just two coats of white and I am so happy with the end result. Then I had to paint the cabinets the thing that really put me off before painting the kitchen was the fact that you have to sand it before and especially in the kitchen that would have been such a mess then I found on Youtube some tips and they were saying that you could use liquid sanding and I have to say that I find it an amazing product. We first coated the cabinets wit the liquid sanding let it dry and then we put the paint on them and I have to say the paint sticks on perfectly and it looks amazing. Then last but not least we had to paint our counter top. I decided to paint the countertop with the same paint as the cabinets. But because I was really scared to damage the paint I decided I want something as extra protection on it.. Then I found at Wilko this marble looking Original Marmi Deco Self-Adhesive Film and I have to say it’s very easy to apply especially when you use a credit card or a drivers license to smoothen it on the the countertop and I really love the result it almost look like real marble and I have to say it’s so easy to clean and it looks really nice. We are very happy with the end results and we are hoping that our landlord will love it too. And looking back I really regret that I didn't do sooner. But now I know exactly what to expect and which products I have to use maybe in the future if I have to to it again. For now me and my family are really enjoying our beautiful kitchen and we are so happy with the End result. I hope I can inspire you. bellow this page I will show you exactly which products we used to get this amazing result. Oh yes and this whole project costs us less then

£ 200,- which is amazing when you see how beautiful it looks.
